Component mode also encodes /, ? and &. Inspecting a URL does not visit it.

Encode and decode URL characters

Component encoding replaces reserved characters with percent-encoded sequences. Decoding restores the original UTF-8 text. In Inspect mode, paste an absolute URL to separate its protocol, host, path and parameters. Repeated query parameters are preserved in the output.

Should I encode a complete URL?

Encode mode processes a component, including /, ? and &. Use it for a parameter value, and use Inspect mode to read a complete URL.

Does the parser visit the link?

No. It uses the browser’s URL parser without contacting the host in your input.
