How to convert CSV to JSON
Your CSV must have a first row of unique column headers. Select its separator and paste the table: each row becomes a JSON object. Quoted fields can contain separators and line breaks. In the reverse direction, provide a JSON array of objects containing simple values.
Why are CSV numbers kept as strings?
This preserves values such as postal codes and identifiers like 001. Automatically converting them to numbers would remove leading zeros.
Can nested JSON objects be exported as CSV?
Values must be simple. Nested arrays and objects are rejected to avoid ambiguous output. Spreadsheet formula prefixes are escaped on export.
