Convert a Unix timestamp to a date
A Unix timestamp measures elapsed time since January 1, 1970 at 00:00:00 UTC. Explicitly choose seconds or milliseconds for numeric input. For a text date, use ISO 8601 with Z or an offset such as +02:00. The result includes both numeric units, UTC time and your browser’s local time.
Why do I sometimes get a date in 1970?
A timestamp in seconds interpreted as milliseconds is a thousand times too small. Check which unit your input uses.

Timestamps are interpreted relative to the Unix epoch in UTC. The output also shows your browser’s time zone and a local representation.
