Does this create an ASCII-only slug?
No. Accented letters are preserved. An ASCII-only identifier would need an additional transliteration step.
Is the output always a valid code identifier?
No. It may start with a digit or match a reserved keyword. Check the naming rules of the language in which you plan to use it.
